In 2008 at the NJSS we saw a Yorkshire gilt that we felt had as much barrow making potential as any we had seen. Unfortunately, Shaffers weren't willing to part with her. At Belton in 2010 they showed a son out of her that we felt was the kind of boar the Yorkshire breed had been needing. We attempted to step up and puchase him, but he ended up going to Moyer's at $44,000. We bred him to our best Yorkshire gilt from our '09 fall crop and Cliffhanger was the result! We feel Cliffhanger is the best Yorkshire boar we have made to date. He was a standout on the sow and has been elite his whole life. He is truly wide and square off both ends, drives at you with a massive chest floor, and leaves with a huge hip. Ideal framesize, muscle shape, and body make him truly unique. Put all this together with the kind of look that wins barrow shows, and we have a huge amount of confidence that Cliffhanger is the next step in making better Yorkshires!
His grandmother is a Scout daughter that was ahead of her time in terms of bone and squareness. Her extended pedigree includes other great boars ARK Patriot 27-4, JJI Captain, and BOLN Heatseeker 15-10.
